Who needs CTC Testing?
1. Vehicles with Manufacturer's Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 14,000 pounds or greater.
2. Almost all non-gasoline vehicles (excluding zero-emission).
3. Vehicles that operate in California on public roads and highways, even if they are
not registered in California. Including federal, state, and local government vehicles.
** Not testing your vehicle will lead to DMV registration holds / suspensions.**

Make sure the Check Engine Light (CEL) is not on.

Does your vehicle smoke when running? If yes, it is not ready for a test. Have a mechanic diagnosis and repair your vehicle.

Has the annual fee of $31.18 been paid in your CTC-VIS account?

Is the Vehicle added to your CTC-VIS account?

Is the vehicle completely warmed up? A vehicle that is not completely warm may not pass.

Does your vehicle have a ECL label? A sufficient ECL label will contain vehicle VIN number and the Engine Family Name. For example, a Detroit Series 60 would be 2DDXH12.7FGF
CTC Compliance Requirements.
COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS
1. Report all vehicles subject to CC in CTC-VIS at cleantruckcheck.arb.ca.gov.
2. Pay annual compliance fees before due dates shown in CTC-VIS.
3. Submit required vehicles to Clean Truck Check emissions compliance tests before due dates show in CTC-VIS.
*Failure to do so will result in a DMV hold on your vehicles registration.**
